Archival & Manuscript Collections

The William S. Allen papers contains correspondence, scholarly papers, written speeches, audio visual material, clippings, reports, and photographs that document the personal and professional work of William Sheridan Allen, an historian and scholar of Germany history and the rise of the Nazi Party.

This collections consists of records and publications from the Western New York Section of the American Chemical Society dating from its inception in 1896.

Documents "Buffalo: The Industrial Heritage", a summer course taught by Reyner Banham in 1977. Contents include contemporary and historic photographs of Buffalo's industrial buildings (including the Larkin Complex) and field notes.

Personal Papers documenting volunteer activities of Annette Blanchard and some family materials. The Deborah Cornell Colwell collection on Katharine Cornell contains items related to Katharine Cornell’s career and legacy, including newspaper clippings, photos, and a book.

The Elizabeth Dribben collection on Katharine Cornell contains papers and physical ephemera associated with Cornell’s career and life, and Dribben’s production of the documentary “Katharine Cornell: A Lady of the Theater.”

The G. Thomas Pagnotta collection on Katharine Cornell contains items related to Katharine Cornell’s career and legacy, including playbills, clippings, photographs, and audiovisual materials.

Includes collected and created photographs, slides, commemorative booklet and research paper relating to the activities of Temple Beth El, Niagara Falls, and Jewish community life in Niagara Falls.

Construction photographs for Graycliff, the summer home of the Darwin D. Martin family which was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

The collection consists of Mr. Herald Price Fahringer’s case documents, publications, and personal materials from 1951-2015. The collection also includes Mr. Fahringer's plaques and awards. The materials in this collection were collected, created, and used by Mr. Herald Price Fahringer. These materials were donated to the Charles B. Sears Law Library at the University at Buffalo after his death in 2015.

The collection of Jewish Community Center (JCC) of Greater Buffalo and Summer Camps Records contains a wide range of material, dominated by photographs and program-related materials for the JCC, Camp Lakeland and Camp Centerland. Also, contains correspondence, reports, publications, newsletters, and handwritten documents. An additional three other collections are included: annual Jewish community book fair records; Jewish Film Festival and Jewish Repertory Theatre records.

Materials related to the Junior League of Buffalo, active in the area from 1919 to the present. The collections includes corporate records, photographs, newspaper clippings, slides, audio and video recordings, magazines published by the Junior League, and materials related to events and programming.

Collection of materials from Elizabeth Lapovsky Kennedy, professor of Women's Studies. Includes her teachings, publications, political activism, resource material, and her work in the UB Women's Studies and American Studies departments.

Collection includes a dissertation and catalogs, notes and recorded interviews Ms. Lehman collected for her dissertation, The "Albright Art School" of the Buffalo Fine Arts Academy: 1887-1954 (New York).

Manhattan Hotel photos includes images of the bar and the exterior of the Manhattan Hotel in Buffalo, New York, circa 1909. The proprietor of the hotel, Mack G. Anderson, is featured along with the hotel’s bartender and visiting guests.

Papers, records, and research files of Philip G. Miles, an experimental mycologist and professor at the University at Buffalo. Miles research focused on Schizophyllum commune, Lentinus edodes, and the cultivation of mushrooms for protein sources in developing nations.
