Historical Note

Rachel Guido de Vriesis a poet and fiction writer who has known Diane di Prima since meeting her at Syracuse, NY, in the mid-1980s. Her books of poetry include A Woman Unknown in Her Bones (Bordighera Books, 2014), The Brother Inside Me (Guernica Editions, 2008), Gambler's Daughter(Guernica Editions, 2001), How to Sing to a Dago (Guernica Editions, 1996),and Tender Warriors(Firebrand Books, 1986), as well as children’s books Stati Zitta, Josie (Bordighera, 2014), and Teeny Tiny Tino’s Fishing Story (Bordighera 2008), which won the Paterson Prize for Books for Young People Award). She is a poet in the schools and conducts independent workshops and readings. A New Jersey native, she lives in Cazenovia, NY.
