Historical Note

Harry Greenberg, Alan Ziegler, Larry Robert Zirlin, and (for a time) Binnie Klein edited ten issues of Some between 1972 and 1981. Published at The Print Center in Brooklyn, New York, the magazine featured poetry, fiction, and interviews by writers such as David Ignatow, Joel Oppenheimer, James Tate, Robert Bly, Anne Waldman, Joe Brainard, and Rochelle Ratner. Issue 7/8 is the "Some Box," containing loose poems and pamphlets. Issues 9 and 10 are, respectively, a special issue on poetry readings and a "literary potpourri" entitled "Old Friends, New Friends." Along with Michael Andre and Erika Rothenberg, the editors also ran Release Press, which published books by writers including Jack Anderson, Bill Knott, and John Yau.
