The School of Medicine Meyer H. Riwchun Memorabilia and Photographs, 1929-1977 includes a scrapbook (1929-1946) maintained by Meyer H. Riwchun related to his service in the U.S. Army Corps and his early career as an ophthalmologist in Buffalo, N.Y. and as a member of the faculty of the School of Medicine; diplomas, citations, and other memorabilia; reunion photographs of the 1927 University of Buffalo School of Medicine.

Meyer H. Riwchun was born in Buffalo, N.Y. on June 28, 1903. He graduated from George Washington University (1923), the University of Buffalo School of Medicine (1927), and did post-graduate work at the University of Vienna (1928-1929). He was a practicing ophthalmologist in Buffalo from 1929-1985. He taught in the School of Medicine and held posts in several Buffalo hospitals. During World War II he was a lieutenant colonel in the Army Medical Corps at Walter Reed Hospital, Washington D.C. He authored numerous articles was active in local and national professional organizations. He died in Buffalo on October 25, 1998.
