The Stanislaw W. Mrozowski Papers, 1931-1985, includes Grant applications and research funding documentation, research proposals and academic papers. It also includes materials for the Journal Carbon, accepted submissions, special issues, announcements, and rejections. The collection also includes materials related to courses taught by Mrozowski at the University at Buffalo, personal and professional correspondence, and records from the Carbon Research Laboratory. Abstract

The Stanislaw W. Mrozowski papers, 1931-1993, primarily concern his work on carbons and the Carbon Research Laboratory at the University at Buffalo, his time as an editor of the international journal called Carbon, and his work as a professor at the the University of Buffalo.

Biographical Note

Dr. Stanislaw Mrozowski was at professor in the Physics department at the University at Buffalo from 1949 until his retirement in 1967 when he became an adjunct professor at Ball State University. While at The University at Buffalo Professor Mrozowski conducted research relating to the study of the physics carbon, and he ran the Carbon Research Laboratory. Professor Mrozowski also served as an editor for an international journal titled Carbon from 1962-1982, he was also one of the founders of the journal.

Arrangement

The materials are organized into two series: Series I. Accession 1974 and Series II. Accession 1998.

Acquisition Information

The Stanislaw W. Mrozowski papers, 1931-1985, were gifted to University Archives by Stanislaw W. Mrozowski in 2 groups, 14 cartons were transferred 21 August, 1974. The next 4 cartons were transferred 17 September, 1974.

The last group of records were gifted to the University Archives by Paul Errington, 22 cartons were transferred in January 1998, as accession # 98-009.
