The collection contains files pertaining to projects, program maintenance, correspondence and reports from the entire center's existence. Project files contain instruments used to perform studies, as well as study results. The extent of the content varies from project to project, with some being quite in depth, and others providing very little information.

Historical Note
The Survey Research Center was created in 1968 as a field research organization that served the University and other scholarly organizations. It was located in the Department of Social Sciences on the Ridge Lea Campus until its closure due to financial difficulties and various other problems in 1979.
