Simpson by the book's author, Rocco L. Versace, in 2007. The book was published in 2008. Copies of the book are included with the collection.

Biographical Note Historical Note
In 1958, with a record of 8-1-0, the University of Buffalo football team won the Lambert Cup, the trophy which was awarded to the best small college football program. This was followed by an invitation to play in the Tangerine Bowl, the first bowl invitation in the team’s history. The invitation was unanimously turned down by the team when it was learned that their two African-American players would not be allowed to play.
