Papers of Joanne L. Schweik concerning her activities as Vice President for Public Relations of the New York Branch of the National Organization for Women (NOW) and as editor of the NOW New York State newsletter. Included are correspondence, local branch newsletters, council meeting minutes and newspaper clippings. Also included is a photocopy of the transcript for the Equal Rights Amendment hearings before the New York State Senate Judiciary Committee on March 11, 1975.

Biographical Note
Joanne L. Schweik was a faculty member at the State University of New York College at Fredonia for many years working in the college's David A. Reed Library. During the 1970s she was the Vice President of Public Relations for the New York State National Organization for Women and editor of the NOW New York State newsletter.
