Overview
This collection documents
Jacob Kramer's experience in the Spanish Civil War and as a non-traditional
college student. It also documents his political activism for the communist
party and includes correspondence, awards, memoirs, research papers, notes, and
clippings.
Biographical Note
Jacob Kramer served in the Abraham Lincoln Brigade during the Spanish
Civil War and in the Merchant Marine during World War II. He was a political
activist and labor organizer throughout his life. In 1972 he joined the Gray
Panthers and became coordinator of the State University of New York at Buffalo
student chapter. Kramer received a Bachelor of Arts and two master's degrees
from the University.

This collection is arranged in two series: I. General files, 1944-1990, II. Subject files, 1933-1991.
Acquisition Information
The collection was donated to the University Archives by Jacob
Kramer's son, Aaron Kramer, in April 1992.
