Oliver Perry Jones' papers, 1932-1989, concerning his professional activities in Hematology and Anatomy, his lectures and publications, and his medical anatomy students' anomaly reports. Also includes correspondence, clippings, reports, lectures, photographs, and other materials associated with various organizations in the professional fields of Anatomy and Hematology.

Biographical Note

Oliver Perry Jones (1906-1989), distinguished professor emeritus of Anatomy. Jones received his B.A. from Temple University in 1929, his Ph.D. at the University of Minnesota in 1935, and his M.D. at the University of Buffalo in 1956. He taught anatomy at the University of Minnesota (1935-1937), the University of Buffalo (1937-1971). In 1971, Jones was made a professor emeritus. Jones was recognized as one of the world's experts on red blood cells. He was the recipient of the Distinguished Researcher Award from the Buffalo Chapter of Sigma Chi for being a pioneer in the use of the electron microscope in morphological studies of blood.
