Biographical Note

Pete Weber began his sportscasting career in 1972 in his hometown of Galesburg, Illinois. His early career took him through South Bend, Los Angeles, Albuquerque, and Seattle before his first stint in Buffalo, which began in 1976. There, he worked for WEBR NewsRadio 970, calling games for the Bills, Braves, Sabres, and local colleges and universities.

In 1978, Weber left WEBR to become radio-TV color commentator for the Los Angeles Kings. After three seasons, he left to announce for the Seattle SuperSonics.

Weber returned to Buffalo in 1982, where he was commentator for WBEN's pre- and post-game shows for the Buffalo Bills, eventually becoming one of their commentators. Throughout the '80s and into the '90s, he did play by play commentary for a variety of other teams in the area, including the Buffalo Bulls, the Canisius Golden Griffins, and the Buffalo Bisons, with whom he spent 13 seasons. Weber also provided commentary for other professional sports, including radio play by play for the Sabres from 1995-1997.

In 1998, Weber became the voice of the Nashville Predators during their first season as a team. He continues to work with the Predators today, and in 2020 he was Tennessee Sportscaster of the Year for the eighth time. He lives in Nashville with his wife, Claudia.
