Processing Information

Digital material processed by Grace Trimper and Sarah Cogley, 2022-2023. Analog material processed by Jessica Hollister, February 2023. Finding aid encoded by Grace Trimper, Sarah Cogley, and Jessica Hollister, February 2023.

A portion of the analog material in Series II., Sub-Series E., Public Affairs archival files, consists of prints or facsimiles of archival photographic material dated mid-nineteenth century to mid-twentieth century. Much of this material is not original, but was gathered by the Office of Public Affairs, mid-twentieth century. Some of this material will correspond with the Public Affairs Photograph Collection located in the University Archives, and when appropriate, the accompanying Public Affairs identifying numbers are listed in the Scope and Contents notes within this Finding Aid.

A small portion of the analog material in Series II., Sub-Series E., Public Affairs archival files, was identified as duplicates of images from the University Archives Photograph Collection, (e.g., President and Chancellor images; building exteriors; etc.). These prints were not included in the final arrangement of 11-2-1414, and discarded, (approximately .1 linear feet of material).

This collection was processed in accordance with the University Archives processing guidelines/policies.

Digital files created by the Office of University Communications were transferred to the University Archives on various types of storage media including compact discs. Where possible, digital content saved on storage media was migrated from the storage media, normalized to standard preservation and access formats, and transferred to a stable preservation environment following the University Libraries' Digital Preservation guidelines. Some folder titles were altered and file arrangement reorganized to assist researchers in locating and identifying digital content.
