The Center for the Arts opened in 1994 as the "Fine Arts Center" for the Fall semester. Later that year, it was dedicated as the "Center for the Arts." It now houses the academic departments of Visual Studies (includes Art and Art History), Art Management Program, Media Study and Theatre and Dance. It also houses the UB Art Gallery, and provides a wide range of performing arts and visual arts for campus, state and region.
