Small collection of proposals for various New York State Science and Technology Foundation grants. Includes proposals for: Technical Information Dissemination Bureau for Western New York; Research in New Methods of Crime Detection; Academic Activities in the Peaceful Uses of Nuclear Energy at the University at Buffalo; Dr. Willard F. Libby lecture visit; Nuclear Science Technology Information Dissemination System; and Edward Teller lecture visit.

Most notable is the file on Teller's visit to the University at Buffalo in 1966. University Archives holds audio of Teller's lecture (see WBFO 0703).

Historical Note

The State Technical Services Act of 1965 was passed by Congress and signed by the President on September 14, 1965….The Act specifies that a designated agency be appointed by the Governor of each State to administer the State program….The purpose of the New York State program is to improve the dissemination and use of scientific and technical information in industry and commerce.

Acquisition Information

New York State Science and Technology Foundation files, Office of the President were transferred to University Archives by the Office of the President in October 1973 as part of collection 5/3/266. Files were removed from 5/3/266 to form this collection in September 2019.
