Biographical Note

During her long tenure as Assistant Treasurer, Emily Webster worked closely with the Treasurer and Comptroller (later the Vice Chancellor/President for Business Affairs); consequently many of the records of the Office of the Treasurer are to a greater or lesser extent the products of Ms. Webster's activities. The papers represent special activities of the Office of Business Affairs which were directly under the control of Emily Webster during the 1950's.
