Scope and Contents
This subseries is divided into six sections. Libraries contains information about local library funding and budget cuts. People's Party was a new political party Powell began in reaction to the mainstream two-party system. The People's Party disseminated news and information via leaflets or flyers. The Phoenix Video Project was a non-profit organization engaged in using video technology to document cultural events or cultural concerns. Research for Justice was a non-profit organization engaged in police brutality and human rights issues. Powell was the head of the Buffalo chapter of SANE (The Committee for a Sane Nuclear Policy) during the early 1960's. Tom Paine Project was a collaborative venture to write a political play about the revolutionary hero.
