This series documents Hyman's involvement with the Citizen's Council on Human Relations (CCHR) and the issue of desegregation in the Buffalo Public Schools. The Citizens' Council on Human Relations (CCHR), incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1963, strove for social equality and "to work toward equal access to services for all" and "to foster integration in educational institutions throughout the Niagara Frontier." The papers include folders dealing specifically with CCHR: correspondence, by-laws, minutes, press releases, reports, and newspaper clippings. Includes papers concerning school desegregation, civil rights, job and housing discrimination, legislative bills and cases.
