Biographical Note

The son of Dr. Roswell Park, Julian Park was born in 1888. After graduating from Williams College and studying at the Universite de Paris, Julian Park joined the faculty of the University of Buffalo in 1913. He wrote a history of the the University of Buffalo in 1917 and in 1919 was named the first dean of the College of Art Sciences, a position he held until his retirement in 1954. Park published a biography of Samuel Capen in 1957 and spent many years writing an updated history of the university, portions of which were published prior to his death in 1965.
