Biographical Note
T.R. Mconnell (1901-1989) served and Chancellor of the University of Buffalo 1950-1954. McConnell, an educator and psychologist, came to the university from the University of Minnesota where he was the Dean of the College of Sciences, Literature, and Arts. Under his leadership, the university’s organization was modernized, the first residence halls opened, and the School of Medicine moved to the main campus. Between 1954 and his death in 1989 he was on the faculty of the School of Education at the University of California at Berkley.
