Historical Note
University Archives has several areas of collecting focus. One of these is the Buffalo and Western New York Architecture Collection. The bulk of the Collection is made up of materials relating to Frank Lloyd Wright, and in particular, the Darwin D. Martin House in Buffalo, New York. Other significant holdings include the Harold L. and Mary D. Cohen papers, Louise Bethune papers, Walter Bird papers, J.J. Polivka, and William S. Huff.

Documents "Buffalo: The Industrial Heritage", a summer course taught by Reyner Banham in 1977. Contents include contemporary and historic photographs of Buffalo's industrial buildings (including the Larkin Complex) and field notes.
Zina Bethune collection on Louise Bethune
Documents the life and work of the first American professional woman architect, Louise Blanchard Bethune. Includes records on the Bethune and Dubke families, the life and work of Dr. Charles William Bethune (Louise Bethune's son), and photographs of the Blanchard family.

Collection contains architectural drawings from the Historic American Buildings Survey of the Darwin D. Martin House, Buffalo, New York, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built in 1904.
J.J. Polivka papers
Papers of J.J. Polivka, internationally renowned Czechoslovakian structural engineer. Collection documents his collaboration with Frank Lloyd Wright on many of Wright's later projects including the Guggenheim Museum, and the proposed Butterfly Bridge. Collection consists of correspondence, clippings, drawings, publications, photographs and photograph negatives.

Temple Beth Zion Records
Organizational papers documenting the religious and community activities of Temple Beth Zion synagogue. Includes photographs, ledgers, scrapbooks, correspondence, newspaper clippings, newsletters, flyers, certificates, architectural drawings and special format or oversize materials dating from 1864 to 2008. Includes materials created by auxiliaries, religious school, leadership, administration and clergy.
