Historical Note
University Archives has several areas of collecting focus. One of these is the Campus Unrest at the University at Buffalo Collection. The bulk of the holdings is made up of materials relating to campus unrest at UB in the late 1960s and early 1970s, and includes the occupation of the university by city of Buffalo police, the arrest of 45 faculty members, censorship of the Spectrum student newspaper, strikes, and protests. Also included are collections covering student activism across the United States and internationally.

Overview
This collection consists of periodicals issued between 1963 and 2000 with most of the material dated
prior to 1990, including non-periodical material arranged by issuing organization. Topics covered include draft resistance and conscientious
objectors during the Vietnamese Conflict, civil rights, the peace movement, disarmament, the women's movement, student unrest, and the labor movement.
